Brittney

Brittney is a highly talented dance and film artist based in Montreal. Her creative processes are collaborative, and frequently combine a multitude of artistic disciplines. Canda’s works are theatrical, emotional, physical, and imaginative, often exploring themes of absurdity. In recognition of her talent and potential, she was selected as an Emerging Choreographer for the internationally recognized dance event, SPRINGBOARD in 2020. Her solo film directing debut TOUCH, in collaboration with Kyra Jean Green’s Trip the Light Fantastic was awarded Best Film at its premiere at Festival Quartiers Danses in 2020, Best Experimental at Bucharest Shorts, and official selection at Festival Regard.


She holds a Vimeo Staff Pick, Juno nomination, Berlin Commercial Shortlist (New Generation Award, Best Experimental, Best Idea, and Best Direction) for her work as a co-director in Sheenah Ko’s WRAP ME UP, and was shortlisted for the Shiny Awards for co-direction of Hannorah's music video, THE DRUDGE. She was awarded Best Choreography in a Music Video at the UKMVAs in 2020 with her piece, WRAP ME UP for Sheenah Ko. She is also the choreographer and editor for the tv series, L'AIR D'ALLER that won the Student Jury Prize for Short Form Series at CANNESÉRIES in 2023.


Brittney’s artistic prowess extends beyond film and television, she has worked as a choreographer and movement director for music videos of renowned artists such as for Celine Dion, The Barr Brothers, Richard Reed Parry, Owen Pallet, Elisapie, Calum Graham, Ada Lea, Simon Leoza (formerly Tambour) and members of Wintersleep showcasing her versatility and creativity in diverse genres. She is always pushing boundaries and redefining artistic expression.
